Environments
A sandbox environment is available for developers to test integrations without incurring charges or submitting real applications.
Like production, the sandbox environment consists of an Online Services website where users can access our various information and registration services using their username and password, and an API host through which integrations interact with our APIs.
The sandbox Online Services website is limited. It only has an RLP UI, to allow developers to review the cases they have created via the API. There is no ScotLIS UI available in the sandbox.
Sandbox organisations, FAS numbers, user accounts and API clients are completely independent of production. Production accounts are reserved for organisations who need to access and modify our registers, and have completed identity and credit checks. Any developer may apply for a sandbox account. If the developer is building an integration on behalf of a single organisation that has an Online Services account, we recommend that the organisation applies for sandbox access and passes details to the developer.
Titles
The sandbox environment does not contain a complete copy of the Land Register. Instead we have provided a set of approximately 40 titles that have real title numbers with corresponding addresses and plans, anonymised and modified to provide suitable test data for the APIs.
